About the Strengthening Families and Support Training Institute

OCFS is committed to family strengthening and support services and investing resources so staff delivering the services are equipped to provide the most effective interventions. To that end, OCFS is conducting the Family Strengthening and Support Training Institute as an opportunity for you to learn best practices and strategies to enhance practice and engage families. This opportunity is for staff from programs funded through the Bureau of Family Strengthening and Community Support programs, such as Healthy Families New York (HFNY), Family Opportunity Centers, and parenting education programs, to come together. Staff from local departments of social services are invited to register for the June 10th sessions to share in the learning.

Attendees will learn about the different program services available and current best practices to build a continuum of family strengthening and support services to promote the well-being for children and families and prevent the entry or re-entry into the child welfare system. Attendees will also have the chance to network with colleagues from across the state and learn from content area experts to improve outcomes for families.
